Hello one and all....
I received a lovely letter yesterday from Alan Hill (the gentleman who helped arrange the Hinton Admiral fixture on tour). He thanked us for an enjoyable game and once again for his cap. He also included three poems he has written by way of offering something back to us as a thanks. I have these at home, and will bring them to the next game I am playing in. In the meantime, I was wondering if there is anyway we can attached a PDF (I can scan the document) somewhere on the website - perhaps to the match report? is this possible Colin?

There is no room for me on the Swain swopsies team which is being led by Linda. She took stickers to work yesterday to swap with another teacher! She doesn't even like football, and is threatening a blanket ban on TV coverage!

Will, we presented a "Mug of the Tour" on the last day which went to Matt Bevan - but special mention was given to the fact that you had left early to avoid receiving it!

smiley for ;)

We also had a great time, despite leaving early. Thanks so much to all who went to the trouble of organising it.

What a great tour! I have already started planning for next year. Many thanks to Richard for all his hard work and for making it a happy & well organized occasion for the third year running.

Post 32: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Monday, Jun 07, 2010 at 12:38

Yes, the Wouldhams also had a great time on tour this year - many thanks to Richard and anyone else involved, and of course all of the players, WAGS and kids who kept laughing. Amelia can look forward to some more "jokes" next year I hope!

The swopsies sessions are also not to be undervalued Mr Swain - I believe my lads got David James yesterday for a Slovenian player, can't be bad! Remains to be seen if Mr James retains his value during the World Cup of course smiley for

Well done Richard for another great tour. The Swains all had an excellent time. No rain next year though please. Linda enjoyed it so much she asked Richard yesterday if he had already booked the 2011 tour! Surely not yet as he is too busy with his world cup sticker book and organising 'swopsies'.

Post 30: Posted by Pete Fisher on Friday, Jun 04, 2010 at 10:38

Super tour. All the Fishers had a great time (Joseph included!!) Many thanks to Richard (and anyone else behind the scenes) for making it all run so well.
Hope all the injuries are on the mend, and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Post 26: Posted by Will Bisley on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 17:22

Match report submitted for the Shooters Hill game. Harbujan Bill now owes me beer, and lots of it please!

Post 25: Posted by Peter Swain on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 19:42

It would of course be a crime for an Aussie to refuse a barbie invite, so I'm up for it.

Post 24: Posted by Pete Fisher on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 20:51

I seem to remember that having returned to Christchurch after this game last year, we ate very late. So I vote for a BBQ after the game.

Post 23: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 18:21

I think this sounds a great idea.

Post 22: Posted by Andy Redman on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 16:32

Definitely think we should accept.

Post 21: Posted by Gary Bill on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 16:20

i'm happy to stay for a barbie rich. :-)

Post 20: Posted by Richard Page on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 14:46

Gents
Brockenhurst have asked us if we would like a bbq after the game on the tuesday, I wanted to get a majority call before accepting, I would personally like to stay for this. It won't affect our chinese meal, which has previously been on the monday evening after the Ashurst game. please let me know if you are keen as soon as possible so I can go back to them to confirm either way.
thanks

Post 13: Posted by Richard Page on Tuesday, Mar 09, 2010 at 13:31

knowing our Fine-Master General, this is bound to be a fine either way now Andy. If you don't attend the nets it will be a fine and if you do it will be a fine for attending cricket nets on your better half's birthday - love it! ........ ha ha

Post 12: Posted by Andy Redman on Monday, Mar 08, 2010 at 17:25

This post will inevitably result in the first fine of the tour!!
It has just been pointed out to me that the Saturday (29 May) is in fact Sarah's birthday... so I may not be at nets or, indeed, available for the evening meal (but we'll see!)

Post 11: Posted by Richard Page on Sunday, Dec 06, 2009 at 11:52

thanks for the update and telephone call Derek.
looks like we now have a definite 13 then and at least 11 for the wednesday game. This is great news. Derek has finally advised he will finalise numbers etc by next week which works well as I am back in bournemouth so I will attempt to get everything booked up. thanks Derek for all your chasing

Post 10: Posted by Derek Seeds on Sunday, Dec 06, 2009 at 11:41

Andy,Asjad, Colin, Derek,Gary, Henry,John, Matt, Pete F, Pete S,Richard,Tan & Will are going on tour.Andy Wells & Ricky have yet to confirm & I am still waiting to hear from Matt Bevan. There is small chance that David, Ian & Ray may come down and play in a game.

Post 9: Posted by Andy Redman on Saturday, Dec 05, 2009 at 13:16

Post 8: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Saturday, Dec 05, 2009 at 09:50

Who's in so far? Have we approached Tonker? (I ccould retire to Barbados on fine money...)

Post 7: Posted by Richard Page on Friday, Dec 04, 2009 at 11:04

gents - if you are yet to respond to Derek, please do so as soon as possible. so far we only have 10 players attending, 8 for the duration, 1 for 3 games and 1 for 2 games, so not looking too hopeful at the moment. Any questions please feel free to contact Derek or myslef directly. We have secured the fixtures but want to book the accomodation as soon as possible so please let us know your intentions (either way) asap. thankss, rich

Post 6: Posted by Asjad Mir on Tuesday, Sep 22, 2009 at 06:56

That's great! please count the Mir family in too.

Post 5: Posted by Andy Redman on Monday, Sep 21, 2009 at 15:30

Yes please Richard ~ count the Redmans in.

Post 4: Posted by Peter Swain on Monday, Sep 21, 2009 at 12:47

After such a successful tour this year I would hope that numbers will be good. More games will allow squad rotation so as not to completly wear out our aging bodies. It will also allow 'visiting' tourists to join for a game and give someone a well earned rest or day at the bar!

Post 3: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Monday, Sep 21, 2009 at 12:28

I'll be available since no doubt I can stay at the in-laws again. I might even do the same as "Romany" Pete Swain!

The only problem you could find Rich is that some might not feel they can last 4 games on the spin, so we may need a few more players available than this year.

Post 2: Posted by Peter Swain on Monday, Sep 21, 2009 at 12:10

As I will again be a caravan dwelling gypsy for the week I will be available.

Post 1: Posted by Richard Page on Monday, Sep 21, 2009 at 10:59

Sorry for the rather early notice here gents. I have sent out e-mails, but thought I would also post here so as to ensure we reach the majority.

For next year's tour we have the possibility of an additional game on the wednesday - previously we have had our last game on the tuesday. This would mean nets on the saturday followed by games on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

This would mean approximately an additional ?25 per person (?50 per couple/family) on the cost of the last two tours. Plus whatever the additional match fee is divided by the number of turing players - so a tenner absolute maximum.

Before I revert to agree the fixture, I wanted to be sure we would be able to field a full team - in case people are not keen on staying on an additional day.

Could you please let me know as soon as possible if you would be keen on playing in a wednesday fixture as I have promised the gentleman to let him know asap.
