33 miles of pain (56km), with the vain hope that the scenery of Cape Town may make you feel a bit better!! I managed 27km yesterday, and felt shocking! I'm going to try and make nets in the next few weeks, but my regular attendance will be limited until April.

Will - what does an "ultra marathon" entail? Sounds extremely impressive to me!

Sorry I missed it guys, hope you had a good turn out. I'm afraid I now have a Christening to go to as well next week, so I will be MIA again. I'm also training for an ultra marathon in April, so the training for this may prevent me coming every week!

It was good to see a few of you at nets yesterday, and I look forward to seeing a few more over the coming weeks (months!). We must be one of the few clubs that has a pre-season almost as long as the season itself. Roll on next Sunday when hopefully my body might nearly have recovered!

Forecast looks ok now though and I've heard Ray says Danson Lane is good, I'm going to give it a go.

Just in case you are online ..... it is currently snowing (2.08) but not too heavily. If there is any danger of significant snowfall I am staying put after the nightmare events of Wednesday when it took me over 2 hours to get to the top of Shooters Hill!!

Is the weather likely to get this cancelled tomorrow?

Nice to see Splinters trying out for a non-batting/non-bowling role this year!

(I always liked Pete's old pads myself...)

After 45 years, it was about time Pete.

I will be there, complete with new pads for you all to aim at. You will be disappointed to hear that my old buckle up ones have been retired from duty.

Surprised Carol hasn't suggested coming along!

Hi Chaps, I won't be able to make this week, as its my wedding anniversary, however I hope to be there the following week.

Post 2: Posted by Andy Redman on Monday, Jan 04, 2010 at 18:02

As far as I am aware we are. I may well not be able to complete a 2 hour stint each week but I will certainly be there on Sunday at 5.

Gents, are we all set for nets this sunday, 17:00 - 19:00 per the AGM?
