I wish I could verify how the evening ending Will but I have an hour gap where I can't remember anything. I recall eating a nice meal, then Bevan getting sambucas in, then a doggy bag appearing for Monica...no idea why...then I'm at the bus stop!

Can anyone with a better memory and capacity for sambuca remember leaving? Were we embarrassing?

Sounds like it got a little messy!

Post 23: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Sunday, Jan 16, 2011 at 12:10

I can't even remember leaving Rich and haven't a clue if I paid or said goodbye or anything - a very sore head this morning! I have a feeling that Mr Bevan being in charge of the drinks orders was not a good idea, I seem to remember sambuca becoming part of the evening?

If I owe anyone any cash please let me know.

Is Mr Page going to be able to grace us with his presence (and shirt) on the 15th? Haven't noticed him replying anywhere?

Post 12: Posted by Peter Swain on Friday, Jan 07, 2011 at 13:57

I thought it was the England and Wales (and SA...)Cricket Board? Perhaps our token Taffy can confirm? Looking forward to drowning my sorrows under a torrent of abuse next weekend! The awful reality is starting to sink in...

Not a great time for Daniel to switch at all. However switching from being a welsh cricket supporter to an Aussie? There's probably not much difference in the standard between the two.

From Eltham's new 12th man, if selected.

I will be ok for the 15th, although I will come along later in the evening around six, after the football.

Very funny! Not quite 18 years yet though! You can see how surprised I am by the whole situation. You will all have to work hard to outdo the Aussie bashing I have already had from Elliott, especially while at the MCG for the 3rd day. Daniel has not chosen a good time to defect from being a pom!

@ Skip, glad you're prepared for "Aussie Bashing Saturday", as the social is now to be called. Just a shame you can't spell the tournament correctly. But then again, it's so long since you've held them...

Sorry for delay in response .... just come back from New Year in Brighton.
Unfortunately we are already attending the first in a whole series of 50th birthday bashes on the 15th so won't be able to join you for a beer and curry. Apologies.

Post 6: Posted by Peter Swain on Sunday, Jan 02, 2011 at 15:03

Happy new year everyone. I will be there to take another Aussie bashing about the ahes!

Post 5: Posted by Matthew Bulpitt on Sunday, Jan 02, 2011 at 14:24

Brilliant guys - FRC + Curry is a favourite.

So far I've had replies from Bill and Bevan! Richard and Ricky, Colin, Splinters and myself. I'm sure Swainy will be up for it too.

This is looking a firm booking then. I will book us a curry for about 8pm. I have been to the Star of India before? Any other favourites from the Eltham residents??

Cheers everyone

Okay boys...

Postponed Christmas drinks have become New Year - New Season - Ashes retained drinks!!!

Saturday 15th January. Venue to be confirmed, West Ham v Arsenal at 5pm, then Curry.

Does that rule out Harbejan Bill? Is Bromley the most central? Does Footscray have ESPN then curry in Eltham??

Please add to the thread so I can book asap.

Cheers everyone - have a great New Years Eve
