Well you'll be very welcome Gabe - keep an eye on the site but it'll be early January when we start the nets.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your advice but i think whilst studying and stuff a less serious standard is probably a good idea! Would just be cool to keep the cricket up as much as possible and i'm sure that with it being a less intense standard theres a good crack around the club and stuff which would be great! With that in mind i reckon ill probably start off with you lads in January if thats alright! And just see how I get on for a few weeks!

Thanks alot, Gabe

Hi Gabe,

You sound like you'd be far too good for us I'm afraid - but if you're after a bit of league cricket why not try the likes of Bexley, Sidcup or Bexleyheath? They play a higher standard and will also do winter nets.

If you'd like to come to our winter nets we start in January at Bexley Grammar School - you'd be more than welcome to come along and join in even if you decide the standard isn;t high enough.

Colin

Hello! Im Gabe Manthorp, a student who has recently moved into the area from Steeton, near Leeds/Bradford. I am looking for a local club who I can come and train with and play with if called upon when the season begins! At home I play for Steeton CC's (www.steeton.cc has my player profile on) 1st XI and keep wicket, I have played for Yorkshire throughout my junior career and have represented the Craven Area Joe Lumb (under 17s) side since i was 15. It would be good to have somewhere to train and keep my cricket up while im down here and i would be happy to fill in during the season if there was a place! Thanks alot! Gabe Manthorp

Hi Andy. Good to hear from you again. We are hoping to have one last game this weekend, and you are welcome to come along and see us there if it happens. If not the club dinner is on 16th October at our new home, Footscray Rugby Club, and as a former, and hopefully returning member, you are welcome to join us. Let us have your email address and we can organise an invitation. Pre-season nets will start up again in January.

Sorry Ionut, we do not maintain our own ground. Have you tried contacting some of the English County Cricket Clubs? They would be in a better position to give you advice.

Good luck!

If you'd like to join us, please contact any of the ECC Committee.

We run winter nets generally from January until the season starts in late April/early May. Once the season starts, we may still be able to give you a game if you contact us.

We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in playing for us (or indeed if you are interested in umpiring, then we might well be able to help you.)
