It has once again proved to be a most enjoyable season made so by every member of the club. We look forward to seeing as many players and wags as possible at the end of season dinner.
roll on next season, when the two of us will have become three!

on an additional note, should anyone fancy a beer through the winter months - you know my number.

As mentioned by everybody else, I have thoroughly enjoyed the season. It is a special club that can play good cricket (most of the time !!) whilst having a good laugh (all of the time). There have been small hitches and great moments along the way, as always.... very weak opposition, very strong opposition, dropped catches, super reflex catches, quiet carefree players, noisy moaning players, misfields, sliding stops, crazy run-outs, huge sixes ( well for some of us Mr Swain !), silly nicknames, very appropriate nicknames, 50's, ducks ("Quack" - Amelia!), 5fers, pulled muscles, bloodied noses, all recorded by our good friends with the cameras. This is what keeps us comfortable at our level of cricket and makes it so much fun week in, week out. Eltham CC has always been a special club, for players who care about cricket and each other. Time to shut up I think...Long live Eltham CC.

I would like to congratulate every member of the club on the completion of a very successful season. A big thanks to all the committee members for their relentless work they do behind the scenes to ensure the club functions successfully throughout the year. Also, a special thanks to Mr Page for the grand cricket tour which was thoroughly enjoyed by the players and families alike.

An excellent speech Mr Wouldham ~ I would also like to extend similar thanks to everyone involved in this season. It has been a pleasure to be a part of such a splendid club and I really value all of your friendships. See you all at the Dinner and then at the AGM which, as I am sure you remember, is on Thursday 23 October at 7.00pm (Venue still to be confirmed but now likely to be BGS)

Firstly, can I please apologise for my irritable (and no doubt irritating) nature in the field (actually possibly it's just my nature full stop.) I feel this has probably detracted from the enjoyment of the games for some of you this season, and I'm not happy about this. I've picked up on a few comments this year and will be trying not to get annoyed next season - I will be approaching Mick Cohen for more details of alleged Zen Buddhism meditation classes in Kent.

Secondly, can I just thank all of you being such a great bunch of guys to play cricket with and - more importantly to me - to know as mates after the games have finished and the dust has settled. I hope this continues for many seasons to come.

Special thanks to Matt for being such a welcoming skipper to all players - I'm sure it's not always been easy for him trying to make sure everyone gets a game, but he has managed it extremely well this year. I don't think LESSA Aquila will forget how he helped them out to a great game this season.

The usual suspects behind the scenes have all done their jobs in ways most players won't notice - but without the efforts of Derek, Matt, Pete, Andy, Henry, Mick and the committee in general, the club wouldn't function in the way it does. Thanks guys.

Lastly - the new players from the last couple of seasons. Richard, Ricky, Asjad, Tan, Imran and Kash have all turned us from a club thinking of folding into a successful unit once again with smiles on our faces. Many thanks to all of you.

I hope we can arrange a midwinter get-together at some point (bowling in Bexleyheath maybe?)
