Post 46: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 21:02

If you find any good ones Tanveer please can you let me know what they are!

The Wouldham clan would like to thank Richard and also Derek for their organisational brilliance - what a great tour! Not only was the cricket good but even the weather stayed sunny - no mean feat!

Asjad and Tan - a blank cheque will be neccesary for your fines! (And Asjad - your fines even went up after you left when your clothes were discovered hanging up in the changing room!)

Post 45: Posted by Tanveer Aslam on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 16:38

Thanks for arrangements Richard. It was good couple of days out of home, Pardon me for late reply was performing voodoo rituals to get rid of my bad-luck. smiley for :D

Post 39: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 09:03

Richard, consider it donnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnne.

The forecast for the Christchurch area is currently looking good for Sunday, light showers on Monday, and good again on Tuesday - better than last year!

Post 38: Posted by Richard Page on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 08:45

I'm getting seriously fidgety about the weather, I have even started looking at the night time forecasts for the area prior to the games. I sincerely hope we get a couple of games this year gents - lets all keep our fingers crossed. Colin - perhaps you can start a hummmmmm and contact that greater being for some assistance with the weather................

Post 37: Posted by Asjad Mir on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 12:44

Post 34: Posted by Richard Page on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 16:32

found a good website to keep checking weather forecasts guys - http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/14days.asp
looks reasonable at the minute - fingers crossed....

Post 33: Posted by Richard Page on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 19:40

Colin - something tells me the snitches won't be a problem - thanks Andy

Post 32: Posted by Andy Redman on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 15:15

Bulpitt already fined for staying in posh hotel ~ please see fines for Redman 2008!

Post 31: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 21:17

Rich I'm happy to do the fines if people are happy but as I'm not at the Premier Inn will need a "snitch" or two to gather info for me when I'm not around.

If we do get to play I would suggest doing the fines after each game where possible.

Post 30: Posted by Richard Page on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 19:31

Gents, as we are nearly 'on tour' just wanted to run a few things by one and all......
1 - I have been checking the 6-15 day weather forecast and lets just say we should keep our collective fingers crossed.
2 - I have not been able to get around to ordering caps for the opposition in time, I am however keen for Pete to issue the opposing skipper with some Eltham CC momento - perhaps a left over shirt from last year?? do we have enough Colin - any thoughts?
3 - As we are pretty much there on tour now we should start thinking about fines.... and therefore a fines master. are there any proposals or nominees..... or has any decision been made? Given his excellent job last year and if he is happy to take up the reigns once more I would like to propose Colin for the role.
4 - to confirm, Derek has booked the meal on saturday night for the Beefeater where we are staying, we will be asking for peoples menu choices shortly. Meal is booked for 7:30. Bill/Bevan - cabs booked for 10:30 into town.

Post 29: Posted by Richard Page on Thursday, Apr 02, 2009 at 12:32

wasn't looking to exclude the kids, but a fair point made that it may not be the most child friendly venue. I will look into a few other places and get something reserved. One has a few irons in ones fire..........

Post 28: Posted by Peter Swain on Wednesday, Apr 01, 2009 at 12:09

I agree that the choice of venue will determine if kids should be included on Saturday night, although it would be nice for them to all come along. I know how much mine like going out. It would be fairer on the mums as well. The chinese was perfect for kids, and we could go back there. Are there any other similar places with separate areas or rooms that anyone knows of?

Post 27: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Monday, Mar 30, 2009 at 16:27

Yeah nothing against wags etc just recalling the busy Italian on the Sat night it didn't sem kid-friendly? The chinese definitely did - we were kind of apart from the main restaurant.

Post 26: Posted by Richard Page on Monday, Mar 30, 2009 at 15:02

sorry, just read that back and realised it made little sense. last year - saturday in the italian (fewer wags and kids), monday I had left but you guys went to the chinese i believe which included all wags and kids

Post 25: Posted by Richard Page on Monday, Mar 30, 2009 at 15:00

last year we did the saturday night after the nets and the monday night. think the monday night one is what you are recalling colin as that was mainly players there for that one

Post 24: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Friday, Mar 27, 2009 at 18:05

Not sure about this with the kids tbh on a Saturday night - we did a monday or sunday last time didn't we and it seemed quieter, I'd not be too keen bringing my lot out on a saturday.

Post 23: Posted by Will Bisley on Friday, Mar 27, 2009 at 17:27

2 Bisleys

Post 22: Posted by Andy Redman on Friday, Mar 27, 2009 at 16:03

Count in the Redmans

Post 21: Posted by Richard Page on Wednesday, Mar 25, 2009 at 13:24

Abigail will be coming along

Post 20: Posted by Peter Swain on Wednesday, Mar 25, 2009 at 13:17

I will be there. I am sure that Linda and the kids would be happy to come along as well. What are the other WAGs and kids doing?

Post 19: Posted by Richard Page on Tuesday, Mar 24, 2009 at 16:10

Guys, as we approach the tour, thought we would set about arranging another meal for the saturday evening. It will be at the same place as last year, or something similar just nearer the pubs in the highstreet. could we just get an idea of numbers at this stage so that we can reserve a table. so if you and your partners and kids are interested please let us know. approx numbers at this point is fine, thanks

Post 18: Posted by Andy Redman on Monday, Dec 01, 2008 at 07:58

Well done gents. I can confirm that Sarah and I will be joining you and we WILL be staying in the team hotel..... although the Lord Bute is very tempting........

Post 17: Posted by Richard Page on Sunday, Nov 30, 2008 at 17:29

Post 15: Posted by Richard Page on Tuesday, Nov 25, 2008 at 18:54

Post 14: Posted by Peter Swain on Friday, Nov 21, 2008 at 13:40

The Swain family will tour and are already looking forward to another week in a caravan, assuming it doesn't rain quite as much as this year.

Post 11: Posted by Will Bisley on Monday, Nov 03, 2008 at 09:46

Hi, t'wife and I will be there and with bells on... Looking forward to it already.

Sorry to hear of your loss Andy. That being said, can anything being burned down in Thamesmead really be described as a loss?

Post 10: Posted by Andy Redman on Sunday, Nov 02, 2008 at 18:47

Thanks for your thoughts Colin. Serious damage I'm afraid ~ unfortunately it was arson and it looks as though we could be out of the building for many months. I'm just coming to terms with the personal things that I have lost ~ signed photos of Sally Gunnell for example!!

Post 9: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Saturday, Nov 01, 2008 at 18:39

Good grief - how bad is the damage? And can you prove you were in Suffolk? smiley for ;)

Seriusly, sorry to hear that news Andy, you'll no doubt be very busy for a while with the fallout from that.

Post 8: Posted by Andy Redman on Saturday, Nov 01, 2008 at 14:43

Oh yes, we will be there ~ and this time, to avoid unnecessary fines, we will join you in the Premier Inn!
Just returned from Suffolk to find out that my Thamesmead school was burned down last night!! Not the best of homecomings!

Post 7: Posted by Peter Swain on Friday, Oct 31, 2008 at 11:02

It looks like we will be able to tour Dorset again, as Daniel's rugby tour seems to be moving from the sun of southern France in May to the rain of Ireland at Easter! I hope to be able to confirm in the next couple of weeks.

Post 6: Posted by Richard Webber on Thursday, Oct 30, 2008 at 22:49

Sorry but I wont be able to make it, il be in China that weekend.

Post 5: Posted by Peter Swain on Wednesday, Oct 29, 2008 at 13:06

I am waiting for confirmation of Daniel's rugby club tour, which if on the same dates will have to take precedence. If we are not away with rugby then the whole Swain family will be there again. Well done and thanks to Richard, Derek and Gary for volunteering to arrange this.

Post 4: Posted by Richard Page on Monday, Oct 27, 2008 at 19:36

thanks Gents, indeed Mr Wouldham - the same half term dates as last time. Please somebody correct me if I have the incorrect dates. I am sure you teachers out there are well aware of your holiday dates!! thanks

Post 3: Posted by Asjad Mir on Monday, Oct 27, 2008 at 14:50

Wow that was quick progress Rich!
Asjad and family would love to be a part of the touring party. Can't wait for Tour-de-Dorset 2009.

Post 2: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Sunday, Oct 26, 2008 at 17:57

Assuming that's the half-term week, the Wouldham clan would aim to be there. I hope this doesn't put off any other prospective "tourists".

Post 1: Posted by Richard Page on Sunday, Oct 26, 2008 at 17:39

Gents, Derek, Gary and I are attempting to organise a a tour for 2009 - similar to that of this year but hopefully with a little more cricket! We will follow the same format as last year - travelling down saturday, returning on the tuesday evening. We hope to arrange three games and a net session, including a few team meals. Obviously all families and better halves will again be more than welcome. Before we commence we wanted to get an idea of who would be interested so as to ensure that we would be able to field a full team for three successive games. Could I ask all people to come back on this thread to let us know if they will be interested and state if their family will be coming. Dates are Sat 23rd May - Tues 26th May. We will try and keep the cost the same as last year. Once we have received an idea of interested numbers we will be in touch with details. Please let us know as soon as possible so that we can start contacting other clubs to arrange fixtures. thanks.
