Undercooked, but burnt food that gives you food poisoning is a hallmark of any successful BBQ. You may as well start now.

Not until I've got a couple of burgers under my belt, you might undercook them otherwise!

Bring it on.

I have a hunch that Mr Swain has brought a bit more flak than usual upon himself by his somewhat gleeful remarks about England at the game last week.

I note his threatening implication regarding 8th July...but the prospect of Aus steamrollering England does indeed make it all the more important that we enjoy the current situation (especially since we are now bound to go out of the Super 8's rapidly!)

I am of course looking forward to discussing the T20 world cup with you all on Friday. All I can say is the Aussies simply were not good enough and never really looked like winning either game. I know how disappointed you all must be that they are out. Enjoy the banter while it lasts! I fully expect to get my own back after 8th July!

I was thinking the very same!! Two weeks in Leicester sounds quite a punishment for crashing out early!

Whilst on the subject of the Aussie Chef, he seems to have gone a little quiet on the T20 front I feel!!

Chef,

Though my in-laws will be there they have turned down the option of a barby, preferring a Chinese to Australian cuisine. Therefore please cater for Gail, Lucy, Sam, Tom and myself (all of whom will eat anything you put in front of them).

And don't forget the tabasco sauce for little Evie.

I'm sure you know your own daughter Richardo, however I thought I had heard she liked chilli extra spicey burgers, as she found normal burgers a bit bland...

I have placed my order for the bbq thru the coach, thanks chef.............. will try and make the cricket - depends on work - sorry I can't commit, Abigail and Evie will be coming to so please cater for them - Evie likes burgers with extra onions

Post 7: Posted by Peter Swain on Monday, Jun 08, 2009 at 15:32

What about the rest of the squad who we have not heard from?

Post 6: Posted by Colin Wouldham on Monday, Jun 08, 2009 at 14:27

Rumour has reached my ears that my mum, dad and sister are coming along (since it is also Lucy's birthday). I shall confirm if they are interested in barby or not.

Hi, just to confirm, I can play and Carol will be attending as well, so that will be two extra for the BBQ please! Carol can't eat red meat, so as long as there is Chicken/Vege stuff that will be great. Personally,I am fine with anything, as long as its not salad...

Thanks Pete, will try and see who else is available. With regard to eating, Sarah and I both eat anything!

Hi everyone

Could you all also please confirm any special dietary requirements, (ie vegetarian) and confirm numbers attending so that we can cater accordingly. As you all know, this an excellent social occasion where WAGs and children are most welcome. Even if you cannot make it for the cricket match please feel free to come along to the barbecue as it would be great to see as many of you as possible. In addition, if any members can think of any other former players or friends of the club who would like to come along please pass on the invitation as Derek and I do not have contact details for everyone.

I look forward to seeing you all on the 12th.
